Art Adventures at MOE
We have covered a lot this first nine weeks. We learned about primary and secondary colors, warm and cool colors, and ventured into complimentary colors. We used a variety of media such as soft pastels, water colors, crayons, and colored chalk. We learned about Kandinsky, Modrain, Klee, and Matisse. Students used their knowledge of line and shape to create Modrain, Klee, and Matisse inspired works. ESE students created collages, did leaf prints, used tissue paper to create pumpkins, and also used colored pasta to make pumpkins.
Zoe's Kitchen has a wonderful program that promotes art in the schools. They supply the canvas, brushes, and paint. Ms. Dubisky and Mrs. Ricabonni's kindergarten class and Mrs. Parson's kindergarten class were chose to participate and have their art work on display at Zoe's Kitchen in Bartram Park. They painted on canvas to the theme: What Makes You Happy. Kindergarten and first grade have finished their clay pinch pots. Second grade made owls out of clay. Third, fourth, and fifth graders will be working on their clay projects in the coming weeks as we learn about form and begin studying Vincent Van Gogh.
